from morning harvest to evening menu

The ingredients we use come as much as possible from our own organic vegetable garden, located at Landgoed Het Hof, and from local farmers in the region. Our kitchen team draws its inspiration from the Hoftuin. This Hoftuin is the common thread throughout blooming’s menu. Together with the gardener, the chef creates a sowing plan each year, allowing blooming to naturally cook in harmony with the seasons. What is harvested in the morning is served on the menu in the evening.

During the high season, a cargo bike full of fresh produce from the Hoftuin sets out daily—and sometimes even twice a day—toward the Blooming kitchens. The first stop is the kitchen at Het Hof, where head chef Daniël Meuleman is in charge. The next stop is the kitchen at blooming Hotel, home to the Zandhoeve restaurant and our cozy blooming Bar. Here, too, the chefs draw their inspiration from whatever comes from the garden. Sometimes the menu is adjusted on the same day so that the fresh produce from our own organic garden can be served immediately. You won’t find this in any cookbook.
